Main highway closed in Sarubi, post overrun

KABUL, Jul. 09 – At around 06:00 am this morning, Mujahideen launched attacks on 3 enemy check posts located on the main Kabul-Jalalabad highway in Mahipar area of Sarubi district.

The fighting resulted in the main highway being closed as Mujahideen overran a strategic check post in Mirwaise Pump area, killing 2 gunmen and forcing the rest to flee as well as putting the 2 other posts under a tight siege.

Similarly an enemy reinforcement convoy was also engaged in which an APC and a pickup truck were destroyed with direct fire and another pickup truck with an IED, leaving 5 more gunmen killed and wounded.
