A team of specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL), led by Mawlawi Sediqullah Rahmani, Head of Seed Certification at the Ministry, embarked on a visit to China to partake in a trilateral agricultural conference involving China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

The conference, scheduled to take place in Xi’an, China, over a period of 10 days, will delve into various aspects of China’s agricultural initiatives, including its 10-year agricultural strategy and the key elements driving China’s agricultural evolution and advancement.

The agenda will encompass discussions on enhancing the skill sets of agricultural laborers and farmers, as well as strategies to attain self-sufficiency in agriculture within China. Deliberations will also focus on topics such as cotton and maize cultivation, irrigation methodologies, irrigation technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), and their applications in agricultural progress.

Furthermore, the delegation is slated to tour agricultural establishments, examine agricultural machinery and equipment, and explore other agricultural advancements in China with the aim of assimilating successful practices and insights for implementation in Afghanistan.

The delegation, led by Mawlawi Sediqullah Rahmani, Head of Seed Certification at the Ministry of Agriculture, included Abdul Khaleq Mahjoob, Head of Alternative Livelihood, Mirwais Khogyani, Shafiullah Momand, advisors to the ministry, Noor Agha Khalil Safi, and a cohort of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture.
