KUNDUZ, Jul. 03 – Daybreak Sunday, Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate launched coordinated attacks on enemy positions in Telawaki, Mullah Sardar and Charkhab areas of the provincial capital amid the ongoing annual campaign ‘Operation Mansouri’.

3 APCs were destroyed in the fighting on Sunday while an attack helicopter was downed with heavy arms fire as well as a check post overrun, Shorabi Qushlaq area cleared, 15 gunmen killed and wounded with 5 corpses left behind and an APC, pickup truck and sizable amount of arms and ammunition seized.

Moreover, Mujahideen in Telawaki area engaged and repelled an overnight enemy attack after inflicting deadly losses followed by advancing on the enemy positions and clearing a large area adjacent Telawaki, seizing 2 APCs, Dshk heavy machine gun and other equipment in the process.

Meanwhile an enemy reinforcement convoy was besieged and attacked after the main Kunduz-Baghlan highway was cut-off in Ali-abad district this morning, forcing it to turn back after heavy casualties.

Officials say that heavy clashes are still ongoing around the provincial capital, more details about which will be updated as information arrives.
