Khost martyr attack kills 22 gunmen

KHOST, May. 28 – Reports arriving from Khost province say that a martyrdom attack has targeted a convoy of Zarbati Unit troops near military club of the provincial capital as they were headed to their duties in civilian cloths and vehicles.

The attack took place just before midday when a martyrdom seeker – Hafiz Idrees – detonated his explosives laden hatchback on the convoy resulting in the killing of 22 Zarbati Unit gunmen with many others wounded, according to initial information.

The site of the attack was planned after months of surveillance and the target was the Zarbati Unit (Khost Protection Force), an elite unit trained by the CIA and tasked with carrying out war crimes against the civilians of the province.

There were no civilians present at the site of the attack and the site of attack was close to a military club.
