Khan-e-Sheen district completely liberated

HELMAND, July. 30 – Amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, the Khan-e-Sheen DHQ, police HQ and all the surrounding check posts, bases and military installations were overrun overnight, says a report.
All the rural areas of the district were already in the control of Mujahideen but in some parts enemy military bases and posts were present that were under siege and consequently captured by Mujahideen last night.
Dozens including the district intelligence chief were killed, forcing them to leave 5 corpses on the battle ground while  several others wounded as well as 3 APCs destroyed.
An APC and a sizable amount of heavy and light arms were seized in the operation.
It is said that 2 Mujahideen embraced martyrdom while 3 others wounded.
Meanwhile Mujahideen also got control over large areas in Garmsir district yesterday and are progressing there too.
