As per the Directorate of Agricultural Affairs within the Kandahar Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, in the year 1403 AH, a total of 61.25 kg of saffron was shipped from Kandahar to various foreign nations including India, Canada, Germany, and Uzbekistan.

Authorities from the Kandahar Agricultural Irrigation and Livestock Department have highlighted that this year’s saffron harvest has not only catered to local markets but has also successfully penetrated international markets, elevating Kandahar’s standing and value in the agricultural sector.

Comparatively, the previous year, in 1402, only 17.96 kilograms of saffron were exported to the United Arab Emirates, India, Canada, Germany, and Uzbekistan, demonstrating a significant increase of 2.5 times in exports from the previous year.
