According to a report of Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Live Stock (MAIL) A total of 6,015 tons of pomegranates have been shipped to international destinations from Greater Kandahar since the beginning of this year.

Officials from the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Kandahar have reported that based on data from the Directorate of Agricultural Affairs, the export figure for pomegranates from Greater Kandahar to foreign nations has reached 6,015 tons thus far this year. It is anticipated that this export volume will surpass that of previous years.

These pomegranates have been sent to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, India, England, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, and Pakistan. Additional shipments to other countries are also scheduled in the coming days.

This year, the increased water supply in Kandahar and a decrease in pomegranate diseases have contributed to a bountiful harvest, leading to higher yields. Consequently, it is expected that there will be a rise in exports from the country to foreign markets.
