KANDAHAR, Oct. 29 –  Kandahar’s customs revenue of past 6 months has increased by 70% compared to last year say the Afghan Ministry of Finance.

Commitment of the officials of the Ministry to transparency in revenue collection, elimination of administrative corruption, and appointing of professional staff in the ministry are the factors that have increased the revenue in the country’s customs.

In the last six months, more than 6 billion Afghanis have been collected from Kandahar Customs, which is 70% more as compared to last year.

According to the Ministry, in the first six months of the 1400 solar year, the revenue of Kandahar customs was 3.842 billion AFN, and in the 1401 solar year, the revenue of Kandahar customs was 6.532 billion AFN.

It is mentionable that the Ministry of Finance had previously announced a 98% increase in Herat customs revenue and a 44% increase in Nangarhar customs revenue.

Meanwhile, following the arrival of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the country, government revenues has increased significantly.
