KABUL, Oct. 24 – Excavation Project of rainwater reservoir in Kabul Abrasive area of Shin Kamar Band region between Islamic Emirate’s Department of Operations and Support and the National Development Company is going to provide job opportunities to over 40000 people.

The opening ceremony of the project was attended by Maulvi Abdul Salam Haqqani, Head of Operations and Support Agency of the Islamic Emirate, Maulvi Abdul Rahman Rashid, Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Abdul Rahman Atash, Director of National Development Company, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Zabihullah Mujahid, Deputy Mayor of Kabul Hamdullah Nomani, representatives of the Ministries of Water and Energy, Rural Rehabilitation and Development were also present.

The director of the Operations and Support Agency said that the leadership of the Islamic Emirate is trying to create job opportunities and economic dynamism for the people in addition to overall security.

Abdul Rahman Rashid, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, said that there are 66,000 tons of wheat in the strategic reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, which will be used in other provinces like Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar and Baghlan after Kabul to create job opportunities in exchange for food from stocks.

The Deputy Mayor of Kabul said that he was working with the commission set up to create employment opportunities for the people of Kabul in order to reduce unemployment and poverty.

The representative of the Ministry of Water and Energy assured that the construction of unfinished dams and canals will be completed soon.
