KABUL, Aug. 07 – Officials of Kabul Municipality presented report to the nation about the municipality’s one-year activities and achievements under the government’s accountability program at the government media and information center.

According to Kabul Municipality officials, 25 road development projects were finished last year, resulting in the asphalting and concreteing of 82 kilometres of roads as well as the beautification of 13 crossings.

 

A vast auditorium for reciting as well as the construction of five canals with a combined length of 5694 metres have all been started and finished in the past year, according to Kabul Municipality authorities. In addition to development, the Kabul Municipality also renovated two warehouses and built four parks in the past year.

 

According to officials a total of 488,751 tons of garbage were collected in Kabul city, 462,586 meters of drains were cleaned, more than 19,000 different industries were investigated, 199,828 tons of expired food items were seized and 3,692 high-rise buildings were demolished. Inspections were conducted which were part of other activities of Kabul Municipality during the last year.

Apart from this, the completion of the remaining road construction works and the commencement of construction works, ensuring the implementation of design plans for canals, bazaars and Rahman Mina residential blocks were the major projects of Kabul Municipality during the last year.
