The dam’s hydroelectric plant, equipped with two 600-kilowatt turbines, generates 1.2 megawatts of power. 4-Around 500 Check Dams

2-Kandahar-Kabul Highway

The first phase of the project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Defense’s engineering team, has seen substantial progress, with 60 meters of road, 11 meters wide, constructed from Ishkashim district to Khandud in Wakhan district. Several sections are now ready for asphalt paving. The Wakhan corridor, known for its historical and cultural significance, is poised to become a crucial economic artery for Afghanistan and the wider region.

5-Inter city Roads and Subways

However, there are ongoing efforts to revive the project, with some countries expressing renewed interest in its potential benefits.

Following a meeting in Kabul between Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and Uzbekistan’s Transport Minister, Ilkhom Makkamov, a technical team of engineers has been dispatched to Afghanistan to assess the Afghan-Trans railway project. This meeting, signaled a renewed commitment to the project’s implementation, with practical work expected to begin soon.

3-Torghundi-Rabat railway line;

Officials in Herat province have announced the signing of a survey and design agreement for the Torghundi-Rabat railway line.

As part of this agreement, a team from Russia is set to arrive in the country this week to commence initial work on the mentioned line. The agreement has been signed with “Afghan German Bakhtar” company, marking an important step towards the development of the Targhundi-Rabat railway line.

4-Aqina-Andkhoi railway line;

Islamic Emirate cabinet meeting has tasked Afghanistan railway authority under ministry of public works the acquisition of 30 km of land in the first phase of the Aqina-Andkhoi railway and a delegation has been appointed to closely inspect the acquisition of this land and present the results at the next Cabinet meeting.

By laying down new tracks, upgrading existing lines, and investing in modern rail technologies, the government set the stage for a more integrated and efficient transportation system.
