The Acting Minister of Interior, Honorable Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with Chinese Ambassador Mr. Zhao Xheng in Kabul, says minister of interior.

During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior’s leadership for ensuring the security of Chinese projects, diplomats, and residents in Afghanistan. He also voiced his satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation from the ministry. Mr. Zhao Sheng highlighted significant recent commercial and economic developments between the two countries.

Mr. Sheng pointed to the opening of the Miss Aynak mine road and agreements related to pine trees and other projects as indicators of strong bilateral relations. He also discussed continued support for Afghan refugees returning to their homeland.

Mr. Haqqani thanked China for its assistance to returning Afghans and welcomed the progress in major commercial and economic projects. He emphasized that enhancing security for commercial and economic initiatives in the country is a top priority for the Ministry of Interior and assured further cooperation in this area.

Both parties underscored the importance of regional stability, security, technical cooperation, and the development of bilateral relations during the meeting.
