The inaugural trilateral gathering involving delegates from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Chalak Holding Group convened in Kabul today to initiate the operational phase of the TAP-500 electricity venture following its approval. Facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Water and Energy of Afghanistan, DABS, steered discussions toward extending the project’s scope to its ultimate destination in Pakistan.

Consensus was reached among the three entities on sustaining regular meetings between technical committees and the secretariat to formalize agreements and strategic plans for executing the TAP-500 initiative.

Underpinned by an economy-focused approach, the Afghan delegation underscored the nation’s commitment to regional connectivity by launching the CASA-1000 electricity project and the TAP-500 gas pipeline. Subsequently, the commencement of the TAP-500 project within Afghanistan has now been set in motion after enduring significant delays.
