HELMAND, Jan. 02 –  IFRC, the Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies under the umbrella of the Red Crescent Society in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, denoted food and sanitation aid to 500 needy and displaced families on Sunday.

The food items include 10 kg of oil, 50 kg of flour, 25 kg of rice, beans, tea and other food items and hygiene kits to each family.

The Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in collaboration with the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCRC) is providing food and shelter items to 3000 war-affected and poor families in Helmand.

Meanwhile, the head of Helmand Red Crescent Society, Mawlwi Fazal Mohammad Fazli Sahib, while talking to BNA reporter said; The survey of these families has been conducted by a special team in a transparent manner and all the eligible families have been identified and surveyed.

This is despite the fact that three days ago, UNHCR, with the financial support of HRDA and the Helmand Department of Refugee Affairs, provided cash assistance to eight war-affected and poor families.
