Women are our mothers, sisters, daughters, and life partners, says Zabihullah Mujahid the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate in his message at 8th March, the women day.
The Islamic Emirate considers it a sacred duty to uphold and protect the rights granted to women by Islamic law. Ensuring the chastity, honor, and legal rights of women stands as a top priority for the Emirate.
Today, Afghan women live in an environment of physical and psychological safety, where all forms of violence and abuse against them have been firmly prevented. No one is permitted to undermine women’s rights or treat them with disrespect.
It is the responsibility of the courts and other relevant institutions under the Islamic Emirate to ensure that women’s rights are fully upheld. These include their right to marry, their entitlement to dowry and inheritance, and the protection of all other rights granted to them under Islamic law.
In accordance with Islamic principles, as well as the culture and traditions of Afghan society, the fundamental rights of Afghan women have been safeguarded. However, it is important to remember that the discussion of women’s rights takes place within the context of an Islamic and Afghan society, which has its own cultural values and traditions that differ significantly from those of Western societies. These differences must be acknowledged and respected in any assessment.
