Following extensive and productive negotiations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the United States, an incarcerated Afghan Mujahid named Khan Mohammad has been released from custody in exchange for American citizens and repatriated.

Khan Mohammad, who received a life sentence from U.S. courts and is currently serving his term in California, was apprehended in Nangarhar nearly twenty years ago.
