Today, a special meeting was convened under the leadership of Prime Minister Alhaji Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund of the Islamic Emirate, focusing on the mistreatment and forced expulsion of Afghan refugees.
Attended by key officials including Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Baradar Akhund, Deputy Minister Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, and Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the gathering vehemently denounced the un-Islamic and inhumane actions perpetrated against Afghan refugees. Such forced deportations were deemed contrary to Islamic teachings, international norms, and the principles of neighborly relations.
The meeting called upon the citizens of Pakistan, political entities, scholars, and influential figures to uphold their Islamic and neighborly duties, emphasizing the enduring historical, cultural, and religious ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Preserving these relationships was underscored as essential for the mutual benefit of both nations, with any mistreatment posing a risk to their shared interests.
Furthermore, the United Nations and global organizations called to intervene and avert this humanitarian crisis, ensuring the dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees.
The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Problems was assigned the task of utilizing all available resources efficiently to promptly offer essential facilities, temporary shelter, and services to the returning Afghan populace.
