Mawlawi Asadullah Bilal Karimi, the esteemed Ambassador of the IEA to China, took part in the 2024 digital technology and mechanized agriculture meeting organized by the Shanghai Organization in Henan Province of China, along with representatives from several other nations.

During this event, the ambassadors engaged in collective and individual meetings with various provincial government officials.

The Ambassador from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan conveyed to the Chinese counterparts during these interactions that significant opportunities have emerged in Afghanistan. He encouraged Chinese companies, particularly those in Henan Province, to consider investments in mechanized agriculture, digital technology, trade, construction, healthcare, and various other sectors.

Additionally, he urged them to explore opportunities to export Afghan agricultural products and industrial goods to Chinese markets, particularly in Henan Province.

Discussions during the meeting revolved around enhancing trade and transit connectivity between the two countries via avenues like the Wakhan Corridor, the One Belt One Road initiative, and the reinstatement of Afghanistan’s position as an observer in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, among other topics. There was a fruitful exchange of ideas.

Towards the conclusion, officials from the Henan government assured the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of their commitment to encouraging companies to collaborate and invest in these specified areas.
