As per a statement of the IEA embassy in China The Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to China, Mawlawi Asadullah Bilal Karimi, met with Mr. Sudheendra Kulkarni, a former diplomat and a colleague of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee , at the embassy.
In this meeting, political, economical, transit and consular issues between Afghanistan and India were discussed. Mr. Kulkarni expressed his satisfaction with the Islamic Emirates and people of Afghanistan and stressed that he will try to elevate the political relations between the Islamic Emirate and the Indian government to a higher level. Important developments in the economic and trade fields should be made and India should invest in health, construction, electricity and other sectors in Afghanistan.
Mr. Ambassador said that the Islamic Emirate seeks healthy relations based on mutual interaction with all countries by having a balanced and economy-oriented policy. Many Important opportunities have currently arisen in Afghanistan for investment.
Mr. Karimi said, “We hope that India will resume the previously unfinished projects in Afghanistan, invest in various sectors, and bilateral trade will further expand through Chabahar.”
Mr. Karimi also said that Afghanistan can play an important transit role in transporting Indian goods to Central Asia. A number of other common regional issues were also discussed
