Honey Production Significantly Increase in Kandahar

KANDAHAR, Dec. 21 – As many as 35 tons of honey have been collected from 21 beekeeping farms in Kandahar province, said officials of department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the province.

The provincial head of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Kandahar Haji Mohammad Hamid told media that 21 registered beekeeping farms exist in this province.

Meanwhile, beekeeping farm owners say there has been a significant increase in the production of honey in this province and price of 1kg of pure honey in Kandahar is 1000 AFN, urging that if centers built for honey the business of beekeeping can increase many folds.
