Authorities at the Herat branch of Afghan Post reveal that approximately 30,000 passports are dispatched monthly to the inhabitants of Herat province through the postal system.
Qari Ghulam Saeed Haris, the head of Afghan Post in Herat, informed BNA that the post office handles the distribution of up to 3,000 passports daily to the province’s residents.
The Afghan Post director in Herat highlighted the scope of postal services, including official communications among government entities and personal correspondence, emphasizing that deliveries are extended to 192 countries globally from Herat. International mail exchanges typically take seven to ten days to reach their destinations.
The Afghan Post director elaborated on the network, citing the presence of a central post office, city post office, airport post office, Islam Qala port post office, Torghandi port post office, and operational representative offices in 15 districts for official and personal postal exchanges.
He noted that domestic postal exchanges are streamlined, usually concluding within a day. Residents of Herat expressed contentment with the efficiency and punctuality of postal services, affirming that services are rendered effectively and promptly in the province.
Recently, Afghan Post inaugurated a post office in Gabriel Township of Herat to enhance accessibility for the local populace, alongside increasing the distribution of passports as part of their expanded services.
