In a recent meeting, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, engaged in discussions with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Usmanov, and his accompanying delegation at the minister’s office, says ministry of public health.

During the dialogue, the two parties deliberated on the importation of medicines and medical supplies from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, enhancing collaborative efforts in the healthcare domain, and augmenting the skills of Afghan health professionals.

Emphasizing the significance of the bilateral health relations with Uzbekistan, the Minister of Public Health underscored, “Strengthening our nation’s healthcare sector necessitates the capacity building of health practitioners, access to quality medications, and state-of-the-art medical equipment. Through robust bilateral ties and collaboration, we can advance this sector and deliver high-standard healthcare services to our patients.”

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the importance of registering medicines imported from Uzbekistan and other nations with the Deputy Ministry of Food and Drug Safety at the Ministry of Public Health.

Conversely, the Uzbek delegation expressed contentment with the ongoing bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector and assured complete support in enhancing the capabilities of Afghan healthcare workers and exporting top-notch medications.
