KABUL, Jan. 04 – Head of Afghanistan Railway Authority Alhaj Mullah Bakhtur Rahman Sharaft in his visit on the official invitation of Pakistan met Mr. Zafar Zaman Ranja, the deputy director of the Ministry of Pakistan Railway on Tuesday.
The meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Mirwais Ghafouri, the Senior Advisor of the Afghanistan Railway Authority, detailed discussions were held regarding the Afghan Trans-Railway.
Mr. Sharaf assured the Pakistani side that the Afghan side is fully prepared for the technical studies of the Afghan Trans-Railway.
The Pakistani side expressed that beside preparing for technical studies, they are committed to pay the cost of technical studies together with Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, bilateral cooperation related to railways was discussed and both sides assured more cooperation.
It should be mentioned that the Afghan Trans-Railway starts from Mazar-e-Sharif and reaches Torkham, which connects Central Asia with South Asia from the territory of Afghanistan, and its implementation brings many benefits to the country.
