ZABUL, Dec. 07 – The Governor of Zabul, Alhaj Mullah Bismillah Abdullah, met with Ms. Slovenia, Director General of the NRC for Afghanistan, and her accompanying delegation at the Governor’s Office in the presence of Deputy Governor Mullah Abdul Khaliq Abid and heads of a number of government agencies.

Ms. Slovenia, NRC’s Director General in Afghanistan, and her accompanying delegation briefed on their ongoing programs and activities in Zabul Province, adding that the NRC has been involved in education, Provides services in the areas of health, hygiene and providing necessary facilities to the refugees adding that they have so far completed a number of projects in Zabul while a number of projects are underway which will soon be handed over to the provincial administration.

They also demanded from the governor of Zabul that in some of the districts of Zabul over the past few months, about 40 local literacy classes have been closed in the province and they should be allowed to reopen it again.

The Governor of Zabul, Alhaj Mullah Bismillah Abdullah, thanked the General Director of NRC and its accompanying delegation for carrying out public works in various sectors in Zabul province and assured all kinds of cooperation. He also authorized the resumption of 40 local literacy classes, adding that they should keep their classes active until a new decision is made by the Ministry of Education.
