KABUL, Jun. 22 – Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, in a gathering today, Wednesday says that the ministry is pledged to preserve and transfer ancient and historical relics of the Mes Aynak project.
He said: ” The Ministry of Information and Culture is striving to deal with current challenges to excavating the relics safely in coordination with a contractor company.
A gathering held Wednesday, at the site of Mine, many Islamic Emirate officials and officials of a Chinese contractor company also attended.
Deputy Azizi termed Mes Aynak as one country’s valuable projects and as an aspect both economic and historical for both countries, Afghanistan and China.
He stressed saying that both sides strive to start the practical work of this project as soon as possible.
The executive vice president of MJAM Zhong Ji Kui, called the Mes Aynak project of Logar, a major foreign investment project in Afghanistan and described that China and Afghanistan are very interested in this project.
He asked the relevant bodies of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to stand by this company and deal with challenges alongside the company in the sector of cultural artifacts and land acquisition.
Meanwhile, the (MJAM) Chinese company, ahead of the upcoming Eid, assisted food items to 300 needy families in the surrounding villages of the Mes Aynak project.
Mes Aynak is located 40km southeast of Kabul, in a barren region of Logar Province.
The site contains the world’s second-largest copper deposit which looms as a major revenue source for Afghanistan.
It is a major project for Afghanistan in terms of employment, training, revenue, and infrastructure development.
