Gold smuggling into country prevented at Torkham

NANGARHAR, Dec. 25 – The Torkham customs officials successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt of gold, says local officials of custom.

At the Torkham customs department, accompanied by intelligence officers, a diligent inspection led to the discovery of 1.8 kilograms of gold concealed within an imported cargo.

The gold had been cleverly concealed, indicating the sophisticated tactics employed by the smugglers who intended to bring it into the country illegally.

However, the vigilant efforts of the officials prevented the smuggling operation.
