BALKH, July. 09 – A gas pipeline from Shaberghan to Mazar-e-Sharif has been inaugrated in a ceremony held on Saturday in which Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawer, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Al-Haj Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, Governor of Balkh, Mowlavi Hamdullah Zahid, Administrative Deputy of the Ministry of Finance and Haji Mohammad Ebrahim Hekmat, Senior Advisor of the Economic Vice-Chancellor were present.
This gas transmission pipeline is about 94.5 kilometers extending from Shaberghan to the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, which is exicuted from the consumption of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
The pipeline is used in the fertilizer and electricity industry, glassmaking and Ghazanfar IPP company to produce electricity, and in the near future it will be connected and distributed to residential houses as well.
It should be noted that 609 million AFN will be spent on the aforementioned pipeline.
