The announcement made by the US president Trump to recognize Baitul Maqdas as the capital of Israel has sparked negative reactions across the globe. Protests have been carried out against the announcement of the US president in different countries, condemning his decision as partial and oppressive. The Islamic Emirate called the decision an irrational and unwise beside its condemnation. Moreover, the members of the OIC rejected Trump’s decision and the European Union also opposed it. The Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas has also said that the US can’t play an impartial mediator’s role in the Palestinian-Israel issue henceforth. Meanwhile, a draft-resolution was presented to the UN Security Council by Egypt which says that recognition of Baitul Maqdas as the capital of Israel by the US has no legal effect. Fourteen members of the Security Council voted in favor of the draft-resolution. A part of the resolution cites that “any decisions and actions which purport to have altered the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded.” In response to this resolution the US used veto power and thus blocked the resolution.

The US thinks that the world is uni-polar however, it is not as such. Unfortunately, they still want to rule the world by use of force and to impose their own will and governments upon other nations. But, the opposition of nations and countries across the globe against American policies show that the US has become isolated in the world. The people of the world are not accepting their illegitimate decisions.

It is worth mentioning that peace can neither be established in the world by use of force, bombardments and invasions nor unsacred alliances, acts and decisions can ever lead to establishing world peace. Peace can be achieved when people get their rights and no one is compelled to sacrifice their life for the obtainment of their legitimate rights.

On the other hand, it is also a challenge for the Muslim Ummah to come together and to defend their legitimate rights. If still they are not coming together and continue remaining disintegrated under one name or the other, so it is certain that the hands of the tyrants will reach the neck of every one of them and then they would not be able to defend themselves.
