HELMAND, Jan. 28 – The foundation stone of two new bridges was laid on the Herat-Kandahar highway in Greshk district of Helmand province by Haji Mawlawi Matin, the district governor of Greshk,  Police Chief Haji Zahir Mama, Intelligence Director Masoomi and Mayor of the district Haji Ishaq were. The construction work of these two new bridges started yesterday.

The two bridges, each measuring 42 meters in length and approximately 3 meters and 5 centimeters in width, will be built to reduce traffic congestion in the Baghra area on the Kandahar-Herat highway.

According to the officials of Gresihk district, the construction of these bridges will facilitate the movement of large trucks and will also prevent delays and collisions of small and passenger vehicles.

It is to be noted that small vehicles with a total weight of not more than 10 tons will be allowed to travel on the newly constructed bridges.
