Former military officials from the previous administration gathered for a protest in Kabul, urging Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to return Afghan helicopters to the Islamic Emirate.

During the demonstration, these ex-military personnel highlighted the destruction of Afghanistan’s modern weaponry by the US during the occupation, replacing it with outdated equipment dating back to the Vietnam War era.

General Kamran Aman criticized US policies, accusing the American president of deceiving the public with promises of weapon restitution and capturing Bagram Airfield, labeling such claims as unrealistic and a product of Washington’s political folly.

Another former general, Shoor Gul Pashtun, condemned those responsible for transferring Afghan helicopters abroad as national traitors, stressing the Afghan people’s unwavering demand for the return of their military assets.

The protesting soldiers cautioned against individuals falsely claiming to represent former soldiers to manipulate foreign nations for personal gain, clarifying that these individuals do not speak for the collective of former military personnel.

Following the collapse of the previous administration, numerous Afghan helicopter units were relocated to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, with their current whereabouts shrouded in uncertainty.

This demonstration coincided with a recent call from Donald Trump for the Islamic Emirate to repatriate remaining American equipment in Afghanistan. However, Maulvi Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, declared the equipment as war spoils, firmly rejecting any handover.
