KABUL, Nov. 30.-  Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IEA, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi along with several other officials of the said Ministry  met with the Pakistani delegation at the Star Palace at capital Kabul, today.

Pakistani delegation headed the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, included the Special Representative for Afghanistan, Muhammad Sadiq Khan, and other officials of Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul, Obaidul Rahman Nizamani.

Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi welcomed the visiting delegation and called the relations between the two neighboring countries beneficial to the peoples of the region And reminded Pakistani side on creation of facilities, progress and speed in the field of trade and transit while expressing willingness to start TAPI, TAP, railway line and other big projects, as well as expressed the Islamic Emirate’s position on political relations, economic growth and security.

The Pakistani delegation promised to cooperate on the good treatment of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, solving problems in travel routes and visas, assuring to take necessary steps regarding strengthening and development of trade and transit with Afghanistan.

Hina Rabbani Khar noted that since Afghanistan and Pakistan are two neighboring Muslim countries and have cultural commonalities, the governments of both countries should cooperate with each other and protect mutual public interests.

Let’s agree that new mechanisms will be created for bilateral cooperation that will explore all common opportunities and issues through dialogue and will be used for development, she said.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed determination of taking useful and positive steps in the future to solve the problems.
