As per a statement of the ministry of foreign affairs of the IEA, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, conducted an introductory meeting with Alireza Bekdali, the recently appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs extended a warm welcome to the new Iranian Ambassador, offered his best wishes for success in his duties, and assured him of the Ministry’s support in facilitating his diplomatic responsibilities.

Mr. Alireza Bekdali conveyed greetings and well-wishes from his Iranian counterpart to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. He expressed his optimism about enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors during his tenure, aiming to bolster ties between the two nations.

Furthermore, the new Iranian Ambassador articulated his intention to foster closer ties by planning high-level delegation visits between Iran and Afghanistan in the near future.
