According to Hafiz Zia Ahamd Takal the deputy spokesman of the foreign ministry today, a bilateral meeting took place between Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Abdullah bin Tuq Al-Mari, the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, along with their respective teams, to discuss a range of economic matters.
At the onset of the visit, Mr. Abdullah bin Tuq Al-Marri warmly welcomed the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He provided insights into the present economic landscape of the United Arab Emirates and underscored a keen interest in fostering Afghanistan-UAE trade relations.
Foreign Minister Muttaqi elaborated on Afghanistan’s economic status, highlighted available investment prospects, and emphasized collaboration opportunities in the realm of commerce. Discussions encompassed mineral extraction, agricultural mechanization, market accessibility for agricultural goods, trade facilitation, trade and transit development between the two nations, Afghan worker migration to the Emirates, banking normalization, and cooperation between chambers of commerce.
Concluding the meeting, both parties agreed to establish technical teams to execute the outlined initiatives effectively, aiming to bolster economic ties between the countries.
