KABUL, Jan. 24 – Today, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a meeting with Daniyar Amangeldiev, the Minister of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic, says Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal the deputy spokesman of the foreign ministry.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade and transit relations between the two countries.

Minister Muttaqi informed the Kyrgyz delegation about recent developments in Afghanistan, highlighting the improved security and stability in the country. He emphasized that these developments have created favorable opportunities for the growth of trade and transit.

Minister Muttaqi also expressed appreciation for Kyrgyzstan’s policies towards Afghanistan and emphasized the need to increase facilities for Afghan traders to import goods from China through Kyrgyzstan, thereby establishing a successful transit route.

Minister Muttaqi further stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has initiated major economic projects and is ready to commence practical work on significant regional initiatives such as Casa 1000.

In response, the Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan acknowledged the extensive relations between the two countries and expressed the potential to further increase exports and imports. He highlighted the opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, including trade, transportation, transit, energy, agriculture, and higher education. Minister Daniyar also mentioned the emergence of joint employment opportunities in multiple areas following the recent positive changes in Afghanistan.

To facilitate business negotiations, the Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan brought a group of Kyrgyz businessmen with him on the trip, aiming to engage with the Afghan government and private sector.

In conclusion, Minister Muttaqi requested the facilitation of visa issuance for Afghan businessmen to promote trade, and he assured the Kyrgyz delegation that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to supporting bilateral relations in all areas.
