KABUL, May. 27 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with the Ambassador of Iran in Kabul Mr. Kazmi Qomi and his deputy.

Mr. Hassan Kazmi Qomi presented information about the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the last Doha meeting and mentioned that the Iranian delegation defended the situation of Afghanistan in this meeting.

He also emphasized on the coordinated management of the border between Afghanistan and Iran, and gave brief information about the latest measures of his government.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized on  good relations between the two sides, besides welcoming the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Doha meeting.

Miniter Muttaqi also expressed about restarting the process of transferring Afghan prisoners, suspending the executions of prisoners sentenced to death, and facilitating visas for Afghan citizens.

Minister of Foreign Affairs also noted that the issues between the two sides can be better resolved through mutual dialogue and understanding. In this meeting, besides securing Iran’s rights in the Helmand River, other bilateral issues were also discussed.
