KABUL, May. 17 – Today UNAMA head Deborah Lyons called on Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, where Ms. Lyons shared details about her visits, highlighting other developments and issues to be looked into.

Ms. Lyons said neither anyone supports war nor any armed group in Afghanistan, nor deems it in the interest of Afghanistan, adding that the ground reality in Afghanistan must reach the world.

Minister Muttaqi thanked Ms. Lyons for sharing details of her visits, elaborating on recent developments in Afghanistan which included the decrees on Hijab, narcotics, and clearance operations.

Mr. Muttaqi reminded her to convey to the United Nations and the world the realities of Afghanistan such as security, end of corruption and embezzlement, and eradication of Daesh and narcotics seriously and realistically.

Ms. Lyons called for joint efforts toward the overall development of Afghanistan, moving forward with a single mechanism.

 

To end, the meeting and information exchanged within were called positive for the future, agreeing on further cooperation and coordination.
