The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Khawaja Awadov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in Kabul today, says Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal the deputy spokesman of the foreign ministry.

During the meeting, they discussed the extension of the TAPI pipeline within Afghanistan, increasing the capacity of the Turghandi station, and matters concerning the Herat Noorul Jihad substation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that the Afghanistan would resolve the remaining issues related to the TAPI project within Afghanistan and commence the actual work.

Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi stated that relevant Afghan agencies are working to finalize all necessary legal documents for the TAPI project and to prepare for the start of construction. He also mentioned that the Afghan administration is working on the development of railway-related facilities at Turghandi Port and will update Turkmenistan in the near future.
