During this encounter, they deliberated on enhancing the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, facilitating consular services for Afghans residing in Saudi Arabia, and maximizing the opportunities within their bilateral ties.
At the outset, the foreign minister extended a warm welcome to the Saudi ambassador, characterizing the relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia as both invaluable and steeped in history. He underscored the necessity for an augmented exchange of goodwill between the two nations.
Furthermore, the foreign minister made a formal request for the Saudi government to increase the quota for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages for Afghans, alongside seeking assistance in rendering consular services to Afghan residents in Saudi Arabia.
In response, the Saudi ambassador portrayed the historical nature of the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, expressing his country’s commitment to aiding Afghans across various domains through its presence in Kabul. Mr. Faisal Talaq Al-Baqmi emphasized that both nations possess the potential for collaboration in diverse sectors, clarifying that the revival of their embassy’s operations in Kabul aims to fully leverage all available resources.
