Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a meeting with Haider Farman, the head of sports affairs at the International Kuresh Federation and Asia Olympics, in the presence of sports administration leadership.

In addition to extending a warm welcome to Farman Haider and his delegation, Minister Muttaqi highlighted the recent successes in cricket and futsal as indications of the country’s sporting advancements. He urged the delegation to convey the current realities and circumstances of Afghanistan to the global community.

Minister Muttaqi also called upon the International Olympic Committee and other sports bodies to thoroughly assess the situation in Afghanistan before making any decisions. In response, Haider Farman expressed that prior perceptions of Afghanistan were inaccurate, emphasizing the significant progress made in Afghan sports. He noted that recent achievements underscore the government’s robust support for sports, suggesting that Afghanistan is now capable of hosting the Asian Games, which would be beneficial for the country.

Farman pledged to portray an accurate depiction of Afghanistan’s sports landscape and current status to international sports organizations during his address.
