Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, engaged in a telephonic discussion with Rashid Khan, the team’s captain, with the aim of providing guidance to the Afghanistan national cricket team and extending congratulations to the nation as they advance to the semi-finals of the 2020 World Cup.

In a thrilling match, Afghanistan emerged victorious against Bangladesh by a margin of eight runs, securing their first ever place in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. This dramatic triumph also resulted in Australia’s elimination from the tournament.

 

Having chosen to bat first, Afghanistan faced a challenging situation, managing to score a modest 115-5. However, bowlers displayed remarkable skill and determination, eventually dismissing Bangladesh for 105 with only seven balls remaining, leading to a tense and memorable victory.

 

In the upcoming semi-finals, Afghanistan will face South Africa, while England will compete against India in the other semi-final match.
