The commencement of the power house and power generation equipment installation for the Shah Wa Aros Dam project has been initiated. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Water and Energy and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the installation process began with a program attended by esteemed officials, including Minister of Water, Honorable Mujibur Rahman Umar Akhundzada, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Honorable Mawlawi Sadr Azam Usmani, Deputy Minister of Economy, Honorable Dr. Abdul Latif Nazari, Minister of Industry and Trade, Honorable Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal, three district governors of Shakar, and several technical personnel.

During the program, the dam’s power house components were officially inaugurated, signifying the commencement of complete dam irrigation. The Honorable Minister of Water emphasized that the implementation of large-scale dam projects is a priority for the Islamic Emirate, and additional dam projects will commence in the near future, alongside the Shah Wa Aros Dam.

It is noteworthy that the necessary equipment for electricity production at the dam has been transported to the site, and the installation process is expected to be completed in the coming period.

The Shah Wa Aros Dam project is one of the Ministry of Water and Energy’s major undertakings. It boasts a capacity to regulate 30 million cubic meters of water, providing approximately 5 million cubic meters of drinking water annually. Moreover, the dam has the capability to generate 1.2 megawatts of electricity and irrigate around 2,700 hectares of agricultural land.
