According to the statistics of The Ministry of Commerce and Industry tremendous increase in exports of Afghanistan products to foreign countries comparing to last year. Based on information of the ministry, the country’s exports volume has reached this year to $1 billion.

According to the ministry, domestic products worth $1 billion have been exported to foreign countries in the past one year, as the country’s exports had reached to $800 million last year.

“More than $1 billion worth goods have been exported to outside in the past one year,” said Nooruddin Azizi, acting minister of commerce and industries adding that Afghanistan exports are increasing by passing each single day, while imports have decreased comparing to last year.

Acting minister of commerce and industry providing details said that facilities have been created for exports as 98 items of Afghanistan exporting goods to China have got customs exemption, adding that nearly 1 million square meter of Afghanistan carpets have been exported to various countries of the world in the past one year.

Azizi went on saying that negotiations on trade with lots of foreign countries are underway, adding that a number of neighboring countries as Turkey, China, United Arab Emirate (UAE), Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Russia have shown readiness for investment particularly on extraction of mines in Afghanistan.

According to ministry of commerce and industry, 6,300 licenses have been issued to domestic and foreign investors in the country. Meanwhile, the ministry has said that efforts towards changing Afghanistan to intersectional transit route in the region are underway as commercial goods of Iran have been transacted to Tajikistan via Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the ministry has also informed of increasing exports to India, saying that the exports to India have increased by 25 percent.

The ministry said that more than 30 tons of commercials good have been exported to India from early 2022, valued at nearly 14 billion afghanis worth of trade.

Meanwhile, officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that most exports to India are fresh fruit and dry fruit. Most of the commercial goods are exported via Wahga port to India.

Afghanistan mostly exports fresh fruits, dry fruits, carpet, herbal plants and precious stones to various countries of the world.
