A significant meeting took place to declare the exemption and reduction of the fixed tax for tradesmen and businessmen.

In accordance with a special order from the esteemed Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Amir-ul-Momineen (may Allah protact him), tradesmen and businessmen with annual sales of up to two million Afghanis are now completely exempt from the fixed tax.

The government media center hosted a press conference to discuss the exemption of the fixed tax for tradesmen. The event was attended by notable figures including Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy prime minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Minister of Finance Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Nasir Akhund, as well as several ministers and senior officials.

Under the new order, tradesmen and businessmen whose annual sales exceed two million Afghanis will be subject to a reduced fixed tax rate of 0.3 percent on the sales volume above that threshold.

Previously, these industries were exempted from annual sales tax for sales up to one hundred and fifty thousand Afghanis, with a tax rate of 0.5 percent applied to sales exceeding that amount.
