Recently, media reports have surfaced highlighting the direct targeting and tragic loss of life of a group of young individuals who were compelled to migrate to Iran, falling victim to the actions of Iranian government border forces.

 

Over the course of 40 years marked by significant challenges, Afghanistan has experienced a notable surge in migration to neighboring countries, driven by families seeking refuge from the persistent issues within the nation.

 

While neighboring countries have shown some degree of hospitality towards these migrant populations, they have also faced significant and enduring challenges in these regions over the years, with little progress made towards resolving their difficulties.

 

Despite recent positive statements from officials in Iran’s neighboring countries regarding immigrants and their potential solutions, the reality reveals a lack of substantive action, with such assurances seemingly limited to rhetoric.

 

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has consistently embraced its responsibility towards migrants, establishing a prominent commission led by Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi to address their needs. The Administrative Office of the Prime Minister’s Office has formed a committee comprising 12 subcommittees to provide essential support for returning migrants in recent months.

 

While the Islamic Emirate welcomes the repatriation of migrants and their children, there remain individuals within the nation who persist in seeking the path of migration as before. Ongoing efforts are being made to deter such movements, emphasizing the importance of Iranian authorities prioritizing the preservation of human life over mere sustenance, and advocating for more effective preventive measures.
