During a meeting between Mr. Thomas Nicholson, the EU’s special representative for Afghanistan, and Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IEA, says Ministry of foreign affairs’.

Mr. Nicholson highlighted the significance of the participation of representatives from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the upcoming Doha 3 meeting, where crucial matters will be discussed and exchanged. He shared his thoughts on the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In response, Mr. Muttaqi expressed that productive discussions had taken place in Kabul with Ms. Rosemary DiCarlo, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. He further stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would assess the arrangements for the Doha 3 meeting and subsequently announce its position.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Muttaqi emphasized that the policy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is based on maintaining a balanced and positive interaction with all nations worldwide. They seek meaningful participation in the Doha 3 meeting, aiming to bring prosperity to the people and the country. He also highlighted the remarkable achievements in various fields, emphasizing that Afghanistan, after 45 years of war and hardship, has achieved full security and is witnessing impressive progress.
