Today, a conference was held at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) to announce significant tax exemptions and discounts on fixed taxes for pump stations and profit taxes for hotels, in accordance with the latest decree issued by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (may Allah protect him).

The conference, organized by the Ministry of Finance, was attended by the Administrative Deputy Prime Minister and representatives from the oil pump stations and hotel unions.

At the outset, Mollah Abdul Qahar (Haji Edris), Deputy Finance Minister, stated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to improving services across all areas, striving to enhance facilities with compassion and kindness toward the people. He added that the concerns of taxpayers are always addressed, and a positive response has been given to their requests regarding tax discounts.

He further noted that the previous tax exemption for shopkeepers has been increased from 150,000 to 2,000,000 afghani, and the tax rate has been decreased from 0.5% to 0.3%. Additionally, based on the decree of the Supreme Leader (may Allah protect him), significant reductions have been made in the fixed tax for gas and oil pump stations and the profit tax for restaurants.

Mollah Abdul Qahar also highlighted that previously, hotels and mobile restaurants with quarterly sales less than 750,000 afghani were subject to a profit tax of 2%, while those with higher sales faced a 5% tax. However, according to the new decree, the profit tax has been reduced to 2% for all. He also mentioned that the fixed tax on gas and oil pump stations has been reduced from 0.6 afghani per liter to 0.3 afghani per liter under the directive of the Supreme Leader (may Allah protect him).

Following this, Administrative Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing facilities and good services for all Afghan citizens. He stated that to facilitate tax matters, previous tax offenses have been exempted. Additionally, the exemption amount for shopkeepers has been increased from 150,000 to 2,000,000 afghani, and the tax rate has been reduced from 0.5% to 0.3%.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that, based on the decree of the Supreme Leader (may Allah protect him), the tax on gas and oil pump stations has been reduced from 0.6 afghani per liter to 0.3 afghani per liter, and the profit tax on hotels has been set at 2%.
