PAKTIA, Aug. 29 – Al-Emarah News said Monday the elderly tribesmen and tribal elders yesterday interceded with Mujahideen on the behalf of the puppet soldiers and asked Mujahideen to turn over the dead bodies of the 48 puppets killed in fighting with Mujahideen Aug. 26, 2016 in Jani Khel district of Paktia province.

Mujahideen agreed to do so and upon arrival of the group consisting of elderly tribesmen and tribal elders, the enemy pounded the area with artilleries and shells, bringing the process to a standstill.

A number of the civilians’ homes were damages with the civilians suffering casualties.

The group returned while the bodies lay strewn in the area and are said to be beyond recognition.

Separately, a number of the puppets were killed and wounded with a tank destroyed during clashes with Mujahideen in Chamkani district of Paktia province on Sunday.
