KABUL, Nov. 28 – The  Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic affiars, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar akhund visited Saripul province to inaugurate eight new wells in the Amu river oil field, according to a statement of the ministry of mines and peroleums.

At the beginning of the meeting organized for the opening of these wells, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar eloborated about the importance of this project and added: With the opening of new wells, the number of dug wells will reach 17. The level of extraction should be raised to 800 cubic meters daily and it is also planned to dig 10 new wells in the near future.

He also discussed about job opportunities and said: With the start of this project, more than 550 people will be directly employed and many more will be indirectly employed.

The economic deputy prime minisrer also called oil extraction a positive step in the field of self-reliance and emphasized on providing more social services to the residents of Saripul Province.
