KABUL, Feb. 22 – The Economic Deputy Prime Minister of the IEA, Mullah Abdul Ghani Bradar Akund met with the Minister of Defense of Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif who came to Kabul today leading a high-level delegation.

In this meeting, both sides discussed about the development of bilateral relations, trade, regional connectivity and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The economic deputy Prime Minister expressed that Afghanistan and Pakistan are two neighboring countries and they should have good relations with each other. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan emphasizes the development of trade and economic relations with Pakistan and considers such relations to be beneficial to both countries.

Mullah Baradar Akhund said that political and security concerns should not affect business or economic matters. 

Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund said that the Islamic Emirate requests Pakistan to release those Afghans who are currently imprisoned in Pakistani prisons. Honorable Mulla Sahib added that necessary facilities should be provided for all passengers in Torkham and Spin Boldak and special facilities should be created for the transportation of emergency patients. The Pakistani side assured the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan of solving the mentioned issues and added that the relevant ministries and appointed committees will work quickly on this matter.
