Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Department, presided over the opening ceremony of the fund, which aims to facilitate support from the private sector. The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, industrialists, businessmen, and several Emirate officials.
In his address, the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs highlighted the significance of establishing this fund, emphasizing its role in supporting the private sector and providing necessary resources. He emphasized that the fund’s support would extend to areas such as trade, transit, industry, and domestic production, fostering rapid growth and development while generating employment opportunities for citizens.
The deputy PM emphasized that supporting the private sector, facilitating investment opportunities for domestic and foreign investors, and promoting domestic industries are top priorities. To this end, His Highness the Amirul Momineen Shaykh Sahib has granted fixed tax exemptions and rebates to entrepreneurs. Furthermore, efforts have been initiated to address the financial guarantees and demands of companies.
During the opening ceremony of the private sector support fund, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund announced that the Islamic Emirate has increased customs tariffs on imported goods that can be domestically produced and meet the people’s needs, thus encouraging domestic production.
Concluding his remarks, the Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister urged private sector representatives to expedite their activities while adhering to accepted standards of quality. The support fund was established to provide reliable financial resources for project implementation, financial assistance for domestic product standardization programs, collaboration in constructing national and international exhibitions, and the creation of dedicated export centers. The private sector warmly welcomed these initiatives.
